EveryGene creates genetics study resources for genetic counseling students, medical genetics trainees, and pediatric learners. The Academy question bank grew from the need for accessible practice material that helps learners work through genetics reasoning.

How a question is developed
Our process is intended to make the teaching task and the supporting evidence explicit:
- Drafting: The question is written around a specific decision a learner must make, with plausible alternatives rather than obviously wrong options.
- Reference selection: Claims that need support are checked against genetics references such as GeneReviews, ACMG guidance, or the relevant official examination outline.
- Review: A contributor with relevant expertise reviews the question and explanation. Not every item has the same author or reviewer.
- Correction: Published material is corrected when a credible error is identified. Readers can report a problem through the contact page.
- Revision: We add and revise questions over time. We do not promise a fixed update schedule.
What the explanations are designed to do
EveryGene Academy combines board-style questions with reasoning-based explanations. When reviewing a question, look for the decision the vignette asks you to make and the evidence supporting the answer. For a condition-specific clinical fact, use the cited reference to explore the topic further.
Our free genetic counseling and medical genetics practice questions let you explore the teaching format before choosing a plan. Each set includes answers and explanations. These original educational examples are not official ABGC or ABMGG examination items.
Choose resources for the concept you are learning
The 101 Must-Know Genetic Conditions flashcards offer condition-focused review. The free Genetics Math Workbook and Pedigree Workbook offer written practice with concepts that benefit from working through the steps.
EveryGene also studies genetics education. Its Instagram education manuscript has been accepted for publication in Genetics in Medicine. The research summary explains what was studied and the limits of the findings.
